BAGBACK is a full-featured, multi-vendor e-commerce marketplace for authenticated pre-owned luxury goods — designed, engineered, and deployed by one developer. Sellers list luxury items through an AI-assisted pipeline that auto-generates SEO-optimized descriptions, scores item condition, and flags authenticity risks using computer vision. Buyers get a trust-verified shopping experience with multi-layer authentication indicators on every product page.
The platform handles the complete marketplace lifecycle: seller onboarding and KYC verification, multi-vendor product listings with variant management, dynamic search with faceted filtering, Stripe payment integration with seller escrow and automatic payouts, shipment tracking via courier API integrations, dispute resolution workflows, and a seller analytics dashboard. The AI pipeline (GPT-4 Vision + Claude) analyzes uploaded product images to generate descriptions, identify brand authenticity markers, flag potential counterfeits, and suggest competitive pricing based on live market data scraping.
The infrastructure runs on OVH VPS using Docker Compose with Caddy as reverse proxy, achieving zero-downtime deployments via GitHub Actions CI/CD pipeline. Database: MySQL 8 with optimistic locking for concurrent auction and purchase flows. The result: a luxury resale platform at the scale of Vestiaire Collective — deployed and maintained by a single engineer, built for the MENA luxury resale market where demand is outpacing supply.
